Building for Tamil Nadu: what we plan for
WhatsApp is the real interface. Dealers, drivers, patients and buyers across Tamil Nadu already live in WhatsApp. Automation that asks them to install a new app usually fails; automation that meets them in a chat usually works. Meta has charged per template message since July 2025 and, since October 2026, for service replies beyond a monthly free allowance, so we design flows that keep message costs predictable. Tamil, English and Tanglish, often in one message. Customers write the way they speak. Current language models handle Tamil reasonably well, but quality varies by task, so we test on samples of your real messages before go-live and keep a human escalation path for anything the model is unsure about.
Compliance is arriving. India’s DPDP Rules were notified in November 2025, with consent-manager provisions from November 2026 and most obligations from May 2027. Any automation that touches customer, employee or patient data needs notice, consent records, retention limits and a breach runbook. Cloud close to home. Microsoft Azure’s South India region is in Chennai, and AWS (Mumbai, Hyderabad) and Google Cloud (Mumbai, Delhi) also run Indian regions, so production data and backups can stay in the country. Self-hosted tools such as n8n can run in those regions too.
